Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name or a date of birth into one of the search tools here, the entry passes straight to the third-party company that runs that search, and that company processes it and returns the results. We do not keep or log the terms you type.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we hold the message so we can write back. It stays inside our own group, and we do not pass it to anyone outside it unless the law requires us to.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads here, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you are on and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site that sent you here, when there was one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files your device stores so we can see how visitors move through the pages. Analytics services roll that traffic up into aggregate reports. Every major browser lets you refuse cookies, and some parts of the site may work differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping pages online, running, and quick to load
- Passing your search request to the right partner service
- Learning which pages help readers and which ones need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Serving advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, keep, build, or sell any database of warrants or of personal warrant records. The pages explain where Jefferson Davis County records sit, which means the Clerk of Court in Jennings, the 31st Judicial District Court, the city courts, the justice-of-the-peace wards, and the Sheriff's Office, and how a reader asks each of them.
Louisiana's public-records law governs the records those offices hold. It does not apply to this site, and it does not give anyone a right to inspect what we keep about visitors. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect is assembled into a consumer report about any person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes here. Whatever you type into one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide how long they keep data and when they share it, and we have no control over either choice. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to Clerk and Sheriff pages, court sites, the state justice-of-the-peace directory, legal-aid resources, and outside search tools. Following any of those links moves you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then governs your visit.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites to target ads. That tracking happens on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A few limited situations can put information in front of other parties:
- Search partners that handle a query you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on these pages
- A court or law-enforcement office when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect what we collect. Nothing on the internet is fully safe, though, so we cannot promise that a breach will never happen even with those measures in place.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Louisiana's public-records law, La. R.S. 44:1 and the sections that follow it, governs records held by state and local government offices such as the Clerk of Court and the Sheriff's Office. It does not govern a private website like this one, and it is the wrong tool for asking about warrant records in any case. What you can always do with data we hold is:
- Ask for a copy of what we keep about you
- Have us correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
For a government record, send the request to the office that holds it. La. R.S. 44:31 covers the right to inspect and copy, La. R.S. 44:32 covers the custodian's response, and La. R.S. 44:35 provides a court remedy when a request is denied or ignored.
Updates to This Policy
This policy can change later. When it does, the new version appears on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
